So, I was recently watching true blood, and after I caught up with what has been released so far I started browsing the wikipedia page about it. I got down to the awards section, and it was mostly just generic stuff.

Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama,

Television Critics Association gave it Outstanding New Program of the Year,

and then I got down to Broadcast Music Incorporated awards. It got two, one in the category of True Blood Original Score, for Nathan Barr, the other in the category of True Blood Theme Song, for Jace Everett. I really want to know who the competition for True blood original score or theme song were. Was it close? I am just happy they won!

ps I didnt know Mr Skin had awards, of which true blood won two.

So, many of you probably dont know what NPRs show, Talk of the Nation, or what NPR is for that matter. NPR is american CBC radio, talk of the nation is what it sounds like, a call-in show where they get general responses to daily topics. Todays was about the californian court decision to uphold the decision to ban gay marriages. I only mention all this cause I heard one of the best lines I have ever heard on a call in show in someones introduction.

I HATE how this is being thought of as a religious issue. I am an ATHEIST. I have ALWAYS been an ATHEIST. I am also a JEW!

that is all.

I think I may be too paranoid. I was just reading a wikipedia page about virtue ethics that makes a comparison between ancient Greece and the modern world. The funny, and completely coincidental, thing is that Toronto was the place in the modern world that they compared it to. For some reason my first thought was that this page was a fake. Someone was trying to trick me somehow. It isn't at all reasonable, and that is why it bothers me.

So when I am sick I generally do research on the illness and the symptoms that I have. It was during that research that I was able to pinpoint what I dislike about people who push herbal remedies others. They don't generally do it because they work better, they work about as well as each other, so it is your choice if you want the faster unnatural one or the side effect reduced natural one. If that is what they are saying that would be cool. But all too often I see phrases like "(Don't)rely on commercial fever reducers, which often have incomprehensible ingredients and a dozen side-effects"(from an article I was reading today...roughly) That argument is one of ignorance and anyone who falls for it should be ashamed of themselves. That is like me saying I am never going to use a car because there are a bunch of parts that I don't know what they do and cars can be dangerous. It is true that I don't know enough about medicine to understand all the ingredients, but the people who made the medicine do, and the doctor who gave me the medicine knows that the medications positive effects outweigh the possible side effects. If you want to use natural medicine that is your choice and congratulations for using it, but don't use natural medicine because you don't know most of the ingredient in that pill bottle. If you do that you may seriously want to look around and make sure you know how every other piece of modern technology works in your environment works, and see how much of that you understand.

stuff...
Well, lots of stuff this weekend I guess. I just kinda want to post. Max got guitar hero 2. We played that a lot. I pretty much have medium difficulty down, but hard is way to hard for me, so it is getting a bit boring. still, has a bunch of songs stuck in my head(carry on wayward son and less cokk more cokk)

On saturday I got kinda hungry, so jeremy and I went to the LCBO. Then a series of unfortunate events occured. We were looking at the classy beers, and I decided as a joke to sugest getting some schlitz. Then jeremy said he would get it if I did, so we bought the 3.90 for a littre beer. As a chaser we got some good beer. We then went and got food at 7-11. On the way back to chris' we decided to up the ante and buy some skittles to make skittlebrew. Ont he way back from the convenience store I found out jeremy was also joking when he said he would buy it if I did, so we bought this terrible beer on two jokes. At least ~1.6 littres of beer is only 6.50. We got back to chris' to find out Schlitz isnt too bad. But I soon added half a pack of skittles to my bottle. I kinda forgot that it would fiz like if you put a mentos in it, but it wasnt a single mentos, it was half a pack of skittles. I quickly covered the bottle with my mouth and drank several mouthfulls of foam till I decided I couldnt handle it and ran to the bathroom, bottle still in mouth and put it in the sink. I foamed there for 2-3 more minutes, admitedly less violently. The skittlebrew was pretty good, but a bit too fruity.

Today it rained really hard. then there was lightning, my cat freaked out. it was running all over my house. in between its attempts to wake me.

Also, on a side note, I put my underwear on backwards today and didnt notice till I got home.

Man I had the best sub ever yesterday. well not really the best sub EVER, it isnt the stwngscbt. I will explain why later. Last night I went over to columbus with my friend kent. We, and a few of his friend did a bunch of drinking. God american beer is bad and weak. anyway, when we were all done drinking we went over to PJs and got subs. Mine was the (vegi variant) Skinny rat. It had on a 10 inch bun, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo, blue cheese dressing, jalapeno poppers, mozerella sticks and fries. it was so damn good, it reminded me of maxs chicken sandwiches back at humberside. anyway, i have decided that the best sandwich ever would be all of that, but also with spicy fries and and maranera. I tried to go back and get that today, but they dont open for lunch like I had hoped. ah well, i am sure I will get back there.

OHIO, OHIo, OHio, Ohio.
I got into Ohio safely, in case anyone was wondering. I think I may have driven a bit too fast. I have seen my parents drive like mad to make it in 7 hours by making just one pit stop really. It took me 6 hours 20 minutes, and I had three stops. I had a highway speeding average with three stops and the last hour of the trip on road that has a much slower than highway speedlimit. I am happy with my time, since it got me in about when I wanted to get in.

I got some good christmas stuff too. Hey chris, I got the first two seasons of due south from my sister, we ought to watch it. Hey everyone(including chris) my sis also gave me a copy of coupling, we ought to watch that. My uncle also got me some CDs that I am sure will be interesting. Gnarles Barkley, TV on the Radio and Bob Dylan. I got socks and some other junk that is nice. I also got crocs(sorry nat, you said you hate em right), in fact my whole family got em, my uncle got us crocs and socks.

anyway, I am missing family brunch, but I needed a break, so this is what I am doing. I have done enough though, so I will go back there now. Have good day.

Today I was broke and hungry. I had to stay on campus till 5 and got there at 8 without eating anything. I was quite worried, but then I was saved. There was a free breakfast at diablos and it was the best. I invented a new breakfast food. It is kinda like french toast. You toast a bagle in a frying plan/on a grittle, then you dip/ accidentaly drop it in pancake batter, then you toast it again so the topside is of pancake texture. I did it with a sweet bagle and tried cream cheese on one side and syrop on the other, either works nicely. I have a feeling I will be doing that again.

Also, I no longer have any sharp angles in my mouth.

So, I found out today that my Mother's family has a crest. That's right, there is a Steil crest and I had never seen it before this day. Gonna need to do something with that, dont know what yet though. On a side not, I found it while doing some cleaning in my grandmothers old house, the one she hasnt lived in in 15 years. We are moving a bed and some furnature. The bed is disgusting. It had old clothes, magazines and other stuff on it. One of the other things was nut shells. Squirles have gotten into the house, and left behind the shells. After my dad and I got out the matress we looked under it and found that the box springs were covered in mouse shit. Worst matress I have ever moved...

On a different topic, I saw a great comercial parody the other day. It was a parody of those Dr. Scholles gell insoles. You know the ones where people ask if other people are gellin. Well it was that.
Guy 1: You gellin
Guy 2: Like Magellin, you gellin?
Guy 1: I'm gellin like a fellon, how bout you, you gellin
*camera switches to guys face
Guy 3: No :(
*camera zooms out to mans whole body, he has no legs, he is in a wheel chair.
Voice: Dr. Scholls insoles, made for people with legs!

Had a great dinner tonight. I went to Tom's Ice Cream Bowl. Had some onion rings and an old fashioned chery coke(coke with chery syrop in it). For deser I had one of my favorite things ever, a penut butter and marshmellow sunday on tom trax ice cream. The whole experence was so bad for me, but meh, what are you going to do.

After that I went driving in the truck. I have gotten significantly better at the manual, but I am still a much worse driver when I am in a standard. I dont get up to speed anywhere near fast enough and I piss people off so badly because it takes me ages to accelerate from a stop. Driving to athens in it today I stalled at an intersection and the guy behind me decided he didnt want to be there, so he passed me. The problem is that I didnt want to be behind him, as I passed him heading to the light. After that we got to the road where I can no longer pass, and he went speed limit. I needed to speed a bit to get to class on time, so I was getting pretty pissed. But that is nowhere near as anoying as the car on the later half of the drive. I cought up to him on the ridges that I run pretty well at speed limit(even though most people slow the fuck down) and anywhere it was at all curvy he was going at least 5 below, but the second it gets perfectly straigh he jumped up to 5-10 above. It was so infuriating because I couldnt pass when it was straight and legal to pass because he was speeding and I be held up because he couldnt take the turns.

Anyway, I'm out of here, so so long suckers and you all lose.
